Call for Faculty and Staff Directory Updates (12/11/07)

Request to Update UC Davis Directory Listings

Dear Colleagues:

It is very important for the University to keep current contact information for all members of the main campus and health system community. In this message, you will find instructions for updating your UC Davis directory listings as well as a brief summary of the overall project to capture faculty and staff directory and emergency information.

In the “Verifying your Directory Listing” section at the end of this email, we have included instructions and the Web address from which you will be able to access and edit your campus directory listings. We ask that you please follow the instructions and update your directory listings by January 22, 2008.

There will be two phases to updating your contact information:

  1. This month, we are asking you to update your individual directory listings. The week of January 23rd, our campus directory team will start work on the print edition of the UC Davis campus and health system directory, using the faculty and staff directory listings in the online application. The 2008 printed directory will be distributed on campus and at the Medical Center next spring. This contact information will also be accessible online through the People Search function on the main UC Davis Web site.

  2. Early next year, when the campus emergency notification system has been programmed and is ready to collect this information, you will be asked to enter your personal emergency contact information. Watch for a separate communication with specific emergency contact instructions next year.

We appreciate in advance your support of this initiative and your help in ensuring that your campus directory listing is updated by mid-January 2008.

Verifying your Directory Listing

To help ensure the accuracy of your individual listing, please follow the steps below and verify your directory information by January 22nd, 2008.

  1. Visit https://listings.ucdavis.edu/update
  2. Use your UC Davis LoginID and Kerberos password to log in.
  3. You will be presented with your directory listing.
    1. If your directory information is correct, you do not need to do anything else.
    2. If your information needs to be updated, please proceed to step 4.
  4. Update your directory information and click Submit.

Faculty Directory Listings

Faculty members and departmental approvers are encouraged to confirm that the faculty (FAC) publish-setting in the White Pages application is selected for all faculty listings. This will ensure the accuracy of the online and printed faculty directories. In order for these to be correct in the printed 2008 Campus Directory, the publish settings must be set and fully approved by January 22nd, 2008.
