IET Budget 2009-10
November 2009: In addition to the May 2009 budget reductions below, IET, like all other campus units, received an additional mid-year reduction for 2009-10. IET’s new reduction target results in an additional $590,000. These additional cuts are reflected in the below updated spreadsheet for 2009-10.
May 2009: Information and Educational Technology submitted to Provost Lavernia its proposal to reduce its operating budget by 5% to 6% (i.e., between $910,000 and $1.115 million) for 2009-10. To meet this target, directors methodically reviewed each IET program and activity, and identified all possible reductions regardless of unit, to determine the mix of cuts that best protects critical campus interests. "The proposal reflects a set of very difficult decisions that put the needs of the campus first," said IET Vice Provost Pete Siegel. But some programs will end, some services will be reduced, and some projects will be slowed.
